Beginners Series
Foundation of Ashtanga Yoga
A gentle and grounded introduction to the Ashtanga yoga method, offered within a safe, welcoming, and supportive environment.
Over six weeks, members are introduced to the foundational elements of the practice:
- Breath and movement (Vinyasa)
- Meditative gazing (Drishti)
- Internal energy locks (Bandha)
Practiced together as Tristhana, these elements transform physical movement into a steady moving meditation.
Members are guided through the opening sequence of postures with supportive variations when appropriate. The course also introduces the philosophy of the Ashtanga method and the Mysore style of learning, allowing practice to unfold with clarity, steadiness, and confidence.
Upon Completion
Members will be prepared to participate in:
- Led Half Primary classes
- Mysore-style practice
